The Fine Print
Terms of Use
Last updated November 1, 2026
By using Grimoire, you agree to these terms. We've kept them as plain as we can.
The App
Grimoire is free to use and provided as-is. We take reasonable care to keep it running and your notes safe, but we can't promise it will always be available, bug-free, or that data will never be lost. Downloading a backup now and then (Settings, then Download a Backup) is a good habit.
Your Courses
Grimoire is a notebook and planner. It isn't connected to Coursera or any other course provider, and study plans and time estimates are only guides.
Your Account
You need an account to use Grimoire, and you need to be at least 13. It's the same account you use for Familiar. Keep your password to yourself, since you're responsible for what happens on your account. You can stop using Grimoire at any time.
Your Content
Everything you write is yours. We don't claim any ownership over it, and we only use it to run Grimoire for you (see the Privacy Policy). Please only save course material you're allowed to copy.
Fair Use
Grimoire is for personal study. Please don't use it for anything illegal, try to get into other people's accounts, overload the service, or try to get around its security. We may limit or suspend accounts that do.
If Grimoire Ever Closes
If we ever shut Grimoire down, we'll give notice first, so you have time to download your notes.
Limits on Liability
As far as the law allows, Interstatus Lab isn't liable for indirect or follow-on losses from using Grimoire, including lost notes. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the laws where you live.
Changes
These terms may be updated as Grimoire changes. We'll update the date at the top, and keeping on using Grimoire after a change means you accept it.
Contact
