Privacy Policy

Last updated November 1, 2026

The short version: Grimoire keeps only what it needs to work. Your notebooks are private to your account. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell or share your data.

One Account With Familiar

Grimoire and Familiar are both made by Interstatus Lab and share one sign-in, so the same email and password work in both. Each app keeps its own data. Grimoire only touches your Familiar log if you turn on Log Study in Familiar in Settings, and then it only adds a log entry to the one task you picked.

What Grimoire Stores

  • Your account: your email address and password. The password is stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody can read it, us included.
  • What you add: your notebooks, divider tabs and pages (names, colors, hour estimates and the notes you write), your study plan (days, session length, break, weeks off) and your check-ins (how long, which tab, and any note).
  • Your settings (tab and sidebar placement, timer chime, the Familiar link) are saved with your account, so they follow you between devices.

Who Helps Run Grimoire

  • Supabase runs the database and sign-in, on servers in the United States. Each account can only read its own data. Supabase also sends the sign-up and password reset emails.
  • Vercel hosts the site and keeps standard request logs (like IP address and browser type) for a short time, for security and troubleshooting.
  • Google Fonts supplies the fonts, so Google sees your IP address and browser when they load.

What We Don't Do

  • No ads, analytics or tracking scripts.
  • No selling, renting or sharing your data.
  • No using your notes to train AI.
  • No browsing your notes. We'd only look at account data if you ask for help, or if we need to fix a problem or keep the service safe.

Your Data, Your Control

  • Download it: Settings, then Download a Backup. You can bring a backup back in from the same place.
  • Delete things: deleting a page, tab, notebook or check-in removes it from our servers the next time Grimoire syncs. Copies can stay in routine database backups for a short time before they roll over.
  • Delete all your Grimoire notes: Settings, then Delete My Notebooks. Your account and your Familiar data stay.
  • Delete your whole account: in Familiar, go to Settings, then Account, then Delete Account. This removes the shared account and everything in both apps right away. Can't sign in? Email hey@interstatus.app from the address you signed up with and we'll do it for you.
  • Your rights: depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data. Just email us and we'll answer within 30 days.

How Long We Keep It

Your data stays as long as your account does. When you delete something, or your whole account, it's gone from our servers apart from those short-lived backups.

Children

Grimoire isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has made an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Big changes will also be mentioned in the app.
